Empowering men and building strong communities since 1996

Man Alive is a specialist living without violence organisation working with men, families and whānau affected by family violence and is dedicated to working on the issues that affect their lives.

We are a non-profit, secular, apolitical organisation offering a broad range of counselling services and programmes with a goal to support all ages to strengthen their relationships with partners, children, family and friends. Man Alive's team is dedicated to working in straightforward and practical ways.

Our goal is to actively promote positive manhood and foster strong relationships through a diverse range of integrated services for men and boys, awakening their unique spirits.

Our Head office is in Henderson and we have further sites in Panmure, Ōrewa and Whangārei. We have delivered violence intervention and related wrap around services on behalf of The Ministry of Justice, Corrections, and The Ministry of Social Development for over 25 years.

We're not just about providing services; we're about igniting a positive transformation in the lives of men and boys, ultimately building communities that work for everyone.

Committed Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Man Alive is a tangata Tiriti organisation.

We are a Tauiwi, Tangata Tiriti organisation employing 40 kaimahi.  We have an established Māori Leadership Group (MLG) comprised of kaumātua and Māori employees. Our MLG’s purpose is to provide a forum for Māori voices, thinking, and discussion which in turn guides and informs the evolution of our organisation and the services we provide for tangata whenua as a means of giving effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

We are committed to the implementation of Te Aorerekura.

Our Journey

Our Journey

In 2002, we took a significant step by acquiring a house on the outskirts of Henderson's business district. This space is now evolving into the Man Alive Men's Centre, a hub of transformation and support.

In 2004, our founder, Warwick Pudney, was honoured with the Q.S.M. for his impactful work with men, his dedication to non-violence, and his co-authorship of books like "Volcano In My Tummy."

In 2023 we updated our brand to better reflect the evolving needs of the boys and men who we serve
